This idea started in the Schoolism class I took in 2022. I took it further and tried to give her a bit more of a story with her baby in tow as she gathers leaves.

The Ozark Howler is one of my favorite cryptids. It’s said to roam the Ozark Mountains and has a terrifying wail. It’s described as having red glowing eyes, small horns, and a body like a bear and big cat combined. A truly interesting creature!

I did this piece for a trend on Instagram during the month of May called #mermay. Mermay is a drawing prompt to draw mermaids during the whole month of may.

I wanted my mermaid to be dark and a little creepy rather that sweet or beautiful. She is beckoning for the viewer to come towards her, but is she friendly or deadly?

I had a dream about a Native American on a horse coming into dimly lit woods.
