Fine Art
At my core I’m a fine artist. It’s what I’ve been doing since I could hold a pencil and what I do on a daily basis now. It’s something I’ll never give up and I can proudly say that I’m one of the few people who knows this is what I was born to do. It won’t matter if I’m a starving artist or successful artist, I’ll always be an artist.

Black Pegasus
So far, this is my largest colored pencil piece to date. I wanted to make this an unconventional pegasus; not white and pearly but ebony and powerful.
Colored pencil on tan toned mixed media paper, 18 x 24 inches

Charro
I snapped some photos of this charro from our trip to Mexico and decided to draw him. The perspective is from above because we were in an arena.
11 x 14 inches on tan multimedia paper.
Blue Roan
This is another photo I took in Mexico. The charros were showing their beautiful Azteca horses around in an arena. We were ground level and really close to them.
These were high dollar horses, and it showed. Each stallion was well behaved and very well bred. I was impressed with the horse’s attitudes as well as looks, in the U.S. you usually just get one or the other. Mexico loves their horses! Rightfully so.
In my opinion this blue roan was the most beautiful of them all.

Gray Timber Wolf
Sometime during 2021 I had a dream about a white wolf. I found the dream very endearing and a good sign that better things are to come. I knew I had to capture the wolf from my dream on paper. She gave me peace and hope. Her eyes look into your soul with wisdom and calm knowing.
About 7 1/8 x 8 1/16 inches on thick, high-quality blue tinted paper.
Luna Moth
I have a soft spot for moths. I love their mystical beauty. Unlike the butterfly you have to be a night owl (which I am) to see these nocturnal creatures. This moth was given to my grandmother, as soon as she saw it she had to have it.
Colored pencil on black paper, approx. 5 x 8 inches.
Horse Study
A graphite pencil study on the facial structure of a horse.
Graphite on bristol paper, approx. 5.5 x 5.5 inches.

Cactus Painting
I wanted to try out some new acrylic paints I had gotten recently, so I did a study of the desert. I wanted to make the western sky stand out as much as possible, because it really is that blue out west. One of my favorite paintings I’ve done to date because it was done quickly yet I captured the essence of the scene. I did it under two hours sitting outside at my picnic table while my husband worked on his truck. The paint dried incredibly fast so I had to work quickly!
Acrylic on tan multimedia paper, about 8 x 6 inches.

Head in the Clouds
I wanted to focus on being expressive with color with this piece. I loosely used a reference photo but I let my intuition take over. It was fun to just do something different than I normally do.
Acrylic on a cloud shaped wood panel, 6.5 x 10 inches.
Japanese Garden Lantern
We saw many magical looking Japanese lanterns in the gardens during our trip to Japan. This one in particular was captivating to me. I decided to make it a miniature painting because the gardens in Japan can be small with tiny little spaces that hold a lot of awe and presence. I don’t think a big painting would quite give it that cozy and captivating feel.
Acrylic on a mini canvas, 3 x 3 inches.
